Rainy Days with a Dose of Hope

Rainy Days with a Dose of Hope

Alright, picture this – rainy days, tight budget. I had 1500php ($26) for a week’s meals and my kids’ snacks. Was a bit hesitant about borrowing from family – you know, that mix of pride and necessity. So, I opened up to my husband, feeling the weight of it all. He says, ‘Let’s pray and have faith.’ Simple but wise, right?

Now, in the midst of sorting through my bag, I stumble upon an angpao – a red envelope my in-laws gave to my eldest. Guess what? $25 inside! Instant joy. Rushed to share the news with my husband. So, we decided to exchange the $20 to pesos, leaving $5 in the angpao. With this bonus, I hit the grocery store for the week’s essentials.

This rainy day tale’s a reminder – hope pops up when you least expect it. In tough money times, a prayer, a bit of faith, and a forgotten envelope can turn things around. Life’s surprises, right?
And thanks to Papa and Mama for Liam’s aguinaldo last year.

PS: I asked my son’s permission before using his money. He agreed because its needed.

Thank you so much anak for being understanding.
